چکیده
Disease progression is slower in HIV-2, as compared with HIV-1 infection, accordance low or undetectable plasma viremia at viral setpoint. However, it unclear why most HIV-2 infected individuals are still risk of developing AIDS. To explore if specific host responses linked to HIV disease severity, we have blood gene expression profiles between seronegative and HIV-1, dually HIV-1/HIV-2 individuals. In this study the encoding Interferon alpha-inducible protein 27 (IFI27) was found be differentially expressed. Detailed analysis revealed significantly higher IFI27 individuals, irrespectively type. Moreover, than Multiple linear regression analysis, adjusting for age sex, showed also that load strongest predictor expression, followed by CD4% line this, viremic, aviremic Still, displayed elevated Furthermore, correlated markers previously inflammation infection. Taken together, our findings suggest sustained elevation type I interferon signaling, here reflected chronic infection phase, a key pathogenic feature both HIV-2.

Evaluation of clinical course and laboratory findings in HIV/HTLV-1 co-infection compare with HIV mono infection
Background: In the last 10 years, co-infection of human immunodeficiency virus/human T-cell leukemia virus-1 (HIV/HTLV-1) has emerged as a worldwide health problem. These viruses has the same route to infect human but different effects on CD4 positive T-cells. There was controversial results about the influence of co-infection HIV/HTLV-1 pathogenesis. This study compared clinical course and lab...
متن کاملFOXP3 Expression Is Upregulated in CD4+T Cells in Progressive HIV-1 Infection and Is a Marker of Disease Severity
BACKGROUND Understanding the role of different classes of T cells during HIV infection is critical to determining which responses correlate with protective immunity. To date, it is unclear whether alterations in regulatory T cell (Treg) function are contributory to progression of HIV infection. METHODOLOGY FOXP3 expression was measured by both qRT-PCR and by flow cytometry in HIV-infected ind...
متن کاملGuanylate Binding Protein (GBP) 5 Is an Interferon-Inducible Inhibitor of HIV-1 Infectivity.
Guanylate binding proteins (GBPs) are an interferon (IFN)-inducible subfamily of guanosine triphosphatases (GTPases) with well-established activity against intracellular bacteria and parasites. Here we show that GBP5 potently restricts HIV-1 and other retroviruses. GBP5 is expressed in the primary target cells of HIV-1, where it impairs viral infectivity by interfering with the processing and v...
متن کاملInducible Expression of Human Gamma Interferon
Background:The premature termination of high producer clones, which will be killed due to cell proliferation and proteins production antagonism, is one of the basic drawback in recombinant proteins technology. Furtheremore, it is supposed some toxic proteins like interferon which we intended to clone and express, inhibit host cells’ proliferation. So, it is necessary to tightly control IFN-γ pr...
متن کاملPlasma Interleukin-27 (IL-27) Levels Are Not Modulated in Patients with Chronic HIV-1 Infection
OBJECTIVE IL-27 is an immunomodulatory cytokine with potent anti-HIV properties in PBMCs, CD4+ T cells, macrophages and immature dendritic cells. Previous smaller studies have suggested that HIV-1 infection may alter IL-27 and influence HIV-1 pathogenesis. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between plasma IL-27 levels in a well-characterised cohort of HIV-1 infected patients....
